Well...here it is...my latest project is an old fashioned ripple! The pattern is from a Leisure Arts pamphlet from 1974 by Jean Leinhauser.
I know, I wasn't going to start this until I finished my Granny Blues blanket but...I ran into a little snag with it, (I will upload pics later when I get my camera back from my daughter), so I have to frog a huge amount of my beautiful granny stripe blanket.
Anyway...back to this fun ripple blanket...
...don't you just love these colors?
I am struggling a bit because I have never done a random color blanket. Yes, I know, a little OCD happening with my crochet, but...I always have a nice "symmetrical repeat" pattern on everything I do so...I'm struggling not to make this so "rigid" and to free my mind and the colors to crochet a totally random color way. I am doing a sequence of sort, (I have to have some organization in this thing), so I am doing two rows of one color and then one row of another and so on. Does that make sense?
Anyway... I will keep you up to date on my progress.
Also, I have made a few granny squares for my CAL's. I will post those later on.
This is where I'm hooking up this week!
Happy Crocheting!

This looks awesome, and the way you are organising your rows sounds good too.

Hi Eileen - your ripple is looking very nice - the randomness of the colors is working out great.
ReplyDeleteI also want to let you know that I mailed your giveaway prize yesterday - you should have it in a few days. :)
BEAUTIFUL ripple! I'm starting my next ripple soon- wedding present for one of my close friends-- but it won't be as colorful as yours!
ReplyDeleteThis blanket will look stunning ..
ReplyDeleteLove the new ripple! I totally understand how stressful "freeform" can be!
ReplyDeleteDear Eileen. This is a very hard work. You made blanket wonderful. I tried to make ripple crochet. But I could not make as it is so hard for me. As soon as possible I must learn how to make. Thank you very much. And all best wishes...
