Baby Emma's Blanket-Free Pattern

Size
35 X 42 inches


Materials
• (A) Red Heart Soft Baby Steps medium weight 8-ply yarn (6 oz per skein): 3 skeins blinky #8001
  (B) Bernat Satin solids pink#8680: 1 skein


• Size J/8 crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge


• Tapestry needle


Gauge
In pattern, 4 rows = 4”
Check gauge to save time.


Pattern Notes
Weave in loose ends as work progresses.
Join each rnd with a sl st unless otherwise stated.
Chain 1 does not count as sc throughout pattern.
Work in BL (back loops) throughout blanket.




Blanket
Row 1: With A, ch 136, [sc in 2nd ch from hook, (skipped stitches count as ch 1 at beginning of row), dc in next ch, sc in next ch] rep across, ending with dc in last ch, turn.
Row 2: ch 1, turn, working in back loops only, sc in first dc, dc in next sc, sc in next dc, and so on across to last dc, turn.
Repeat Row 2 until 41 inches long. Fasten off color A.









Border
Row 1: (RS) With B, join in corner sp, Ch 1, sc in same st as joining st, 2 sc in same st, (corner made), sc across to corner and 3 sc in corner sp. Then sc down side, until entire blanket has sc border, ending with sl st in beginning ch 1.
Row 2: (RS) sl st in center sc, ch 3 (counts as first dc) 4 dc in same st. *Sk 2 sc, sl st in next sc, sk 2 sc st, 5 dc in next sc*, repeat across until 2 sc before center corner st, sl st in center corner sc, repeat from *to* around, join with sl st in beginning sc, fasten off.
