Which Online, LYS (local yarn shop--not box store) Yarn Is Your Favorite?
KnitPicks.com has a wonderful selection of any kind of yarn you could possibly want. I have only tried their "Wool of the Andes" yarn and it is fantastic. The"Shine Sport Yarn" is also popular on a lot of projects in blog land. Tons of great colors to choose from and great prices. Check it out!
Yarnmarket carries just about every yarn you can imagine including Crystal Palace one of my favorites. I used the "Mochi Plus" yarn on this scarf
Deramore's has the beautiful colors of acrylic "Stylecraft DK" which is one of Lucy's of Attic24 faves.
Jimmy Beans Wool I have no experience with them but they do carry Cascade yarn and I really want to try it.
Premiere Yarns Love their catalog and they have great selections.
Annies Attic They seem to have a ton of patterns and yarn.
Mary Maxim I love looking at their catalogs.
Garnstudio-Drops Yarn
They have the best patterns and I am anxious to try their yarn.
I am sure there are others but these seem to be the most popular I've seen from crochet bloggers. If I missed your favorite yarn place please leave me a comment so I and others can go check it out! I have added an "Other" choice on this poll for those who want to share their favorites in a comment.
Thanks for your participation. I am anxious to see the results of this one! Isn't this fun??
Happy Crocheting!
I LOVE DROPS! :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Nadiake! I'm going to have to try them soon!
DeleteJimmy Beans Wool!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Shari! I am learning so much from this poll and getting some great information from the comments.
DeleteKnitpicks! I also love Drops Alpaca. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Teresa! Thanks for commenting.
DeleteKnit picks. But there is a private yarn shop I go to whenever I go up to Lancaster, Pa. Lancaster yarn shop and it's located in the heart of Amish Country. It sits in a big tourist attraction. Wendy, the owner carries local hand dyed yarns and some well known yarns. They are a bit pricey but the quality, the time these folks put time in dying the hanks of yarn, makes my purchase worth it.
ReplyDeleteOooh! I am so jealous. I wish I had a yarn shop like that nearby.
Deleteyes the yarns are beautiful, however my grammar isn't. Soo embarrassed-i replied via iPhone and I was sleepy. Should have re read the reply LOL.
DeleteJimmy Beans is my first go too, their customer service rocks and the shipping is crazy fast!
ReplyDeleteWow! I had no idea! It's good to know though. I order from Joann's online and shipping takes forever.
DeleteCan I be really blatant and mention myself? Stockton Crafts at www.stocktoncrafts.co.uk - I am small but growing, I am keen and bend over backwards to be helpful (not literally you understand)... I am carrying more and more every month AND I am FREE postage in the UK and keep my prices to a minimum because I am a crafter myself and remember the days when it was cheaper to make it yourself! Hugs, Jill x
ReplyDeleteYou go girl! It's okay to be blatant sometimes. Good for you!
DeleteThanks Eileen! Hugs, Jill x
DeleteI love working with Ella Rae yarn purchased from my LYS. But my LYS just announced her very own line of yarn! I'm excited about the yarn, and very happy for the owner. Check out "gather" yarn at Downtown Knits in Apex, NC.
