Meet baby Emma's new baby giraffe toy...
I know...isn't she something else? (Not sure what but she is something?) Please don't look to close...this little baby giraffe is far from perfect. This is my first attempt at Amigurumi, I'm sure you can tell.
There is nothing straight on this little baby. Everything is crooked, which I hope adds to the charm. My daughter laughed when I gave it to her and said she loved it. Not sure the laughing was a good thing. She was borderline Hysterical laughing!
Well, all I can say is I'm so glad it's over and I will not make anything, (teddy bears, etc.) again in the near future. I am not saying never again because I may have a total lapse of memory and want to make another little something. But...I hope I don't forget what a pain in the a** this was to make. So...if you are glutton for punishment...here is the pattern and details on Ravelry.
More tah dah's coming soon!
Happy Crocheting!
I think you did a great job Eileen - she's really cute. I bet she ends up being one of Emma's favorite toys. :)
ReplyDeleteI think she is perfect just the way she is. She has character.

Meredith
Some amigurumi patterns make me want to chuck the yarn and hook out the window. I completely understand. However, baby Emily will love it anyway.
ReplyDeleteI think the little baby giraffe is very cute and you should be patting yourself on the back. I tend to shy away from anything remotely like amigurumi as all those sc stitches are a pain in the you know what. I'm sure your giraffe will become a much loved 'friend'. xoxox
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful! And who cares if she's not "perfect"? She's made with love and that's what counts. I applaud your courage in making her; I have yet to make that step.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Kate
you did a great job its so cute.
ReplyDeleteAwwww.. it's cute.. I think you did a good job!! Don't ever say never... You must try again.. I said the same thing about mine when my first one was done, but I tried again and the second came out much much more nice.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteI think it's adorable.. but I can feel your pain on making little stuffed animals. I'm stalled out on my Teddy #5 - but will finish it someday. The little boys I'm doing the last 2 for are a bit wild yet and I fear their dog would chew them up. So, when I do get the last 2 done, I made make them leave them at grandma's house and play with them here.
ReplyDelete((hugs)), Teresa :-)
I still struggle with faces on the dolls I make. To me that is the hardest part. And we are always harder on ourselves about things like that. But ya know what? That is a one of a kind. There is not another one like it on this earth, and that in itself makes it special. :o)
ReplyDeleteOh how sweet. This is a treasure for sure.
