New Crochet Ripple

Well...here it is...my latest project is an old fashioned ripple! The pattern is from a Leisure Arts pamphlet from 1974 by Jean Leinhauser.

I know, I wasn't going to start this until I finished my Granny Blues blanket but...I ran into a little snag with it, (I will upload pics later when I get my camera back from my daughter), so I have to frog a huge amount of my beautiful granny stripe blanket.

Anyway...back to this fun ripple blanket...

...don't you just love these colors?

I am struggling a bit because I have never done a random color blanket. Yes, I know, a little OCD happening with my crochet, but...I always have a nice "symmetrical repeat" pattern on everything I do so...I'm struggling not to make this so "rigid" and to free my mind and the colors to crochet a totally random color way. I am doing a sequence of sort, (I have to have some organization in this thing), so I am doing two rows of one color and then one row of another and so on. Does that make sense?

Anyway... I will keep you up to date on my progress.

Also, I have made a few granny squares for my CAL's. I will post those later on.

This is where I'm hooking up this week!

Happy Crocheting!

  1. This looks awesome, and the way you are organising your rows sounds good too.

It is unfortunate that you have had to frog alot of your other blanket :(

It's so disappointing when you have to frog a blanket stay positive it will be beautiful when it's finished. I look forward to seeing your progress.
